Hi, I’m Manish.

Builder, Cyclist, and occasional Essayist.

Pronouns: He/His/Him

Here you can have a glance into a part of my professional life.

I’m currently available for freelancing.

Hi I am Manish Gotame.

I was born in Pokhara, Nepal, and spent my childhood and my schooling years in seven different places all over my country where I learned the diverse communal values and the cultures that have made me who I am today.

From school clubs for teaching programming to students to leading a team of developers to build an AI-powered platform (pre-LLM boom). I have delved into various technological fields and contorted them to meet people's needs in the form of products and services.

Apart from my initiatives, I also work as a freelancer on Upwork — I have worked on projects ranging from data scraping to data analytics platforms for clients all around the world. I currently work as a Smart Contract Developer at CarboonZero to build smart contracts and performant web applications using React, Django, etc.

You can check some of them out in my portfolio

Apart from my professional work, I spend a lot of time reading The New Yorker and cycling essays. I have written some of my own in my substack. I also spend countless hours watching races and analyzing them -- clinically and thematically. I also ride and race bicycles and track my athletic progress on Strava where I geek over speed and power.

I hope that whatever work I do unites my various passions, and brings an impact on my communities -- be it on the bike, on paper, or on the keyboard.

Feel free to email me at: manishgt194@gmail.com

I love communicating with people about technologies and ideas, so if you are currently based in Pokhara, feel free to reach out for a ride or a cup of coffee.

“Manish communicated well when working with us. He completed work in a timely manner and asked the right questions to understand what we wanted to accomplish.

He also went above and beyond and provided some improvements that we didn't even ask for. He wrote an optimized smart contract that significantly lowered our gas fees during mint. He used his own ideas to make the contract better, instead of leveraging existing gas-heavy libraries.

He also wrote a thorough test suite, which we didn't even ask for but was very beneficial to have. He also tested the contract by forking mainnet. Manish also provided a frontend developer from his network that worked on our website.“

"Manish was exceptionally fast, knowledgeable, and great to work with. Will certainly be working with him again on my next project. He kept me in the loop at all times, got up to speed very quickly on a complex project, made suggested solutions to the issues I was having. Would highly recommend."
