Route to GPX is a small weekend project I worked on after encountering a major issue with route building for my cycling and motorcycling trips. When venturing into unknown places, it’s always helpful to have a designated route guiding you to your destination. While most fitness apps like Strava and Garmin offer built-in route services, I ran into a few major problems:
Strava doesn’t allow route building without a subscription.
Garmin’s route builder doesn’t work well on mobile devices, and the auto-routing feature is unreliable on the web.
Thus, Route to GPX is a simple service that allows you to:
Use the familiar Google Maps web app to select your start and end destinations.
Copy the URL and paste it into the Route to GPX web app.
Instantly generate a GPX file that you can upload to Strava or the Garmin app.
App User Interface
The UI is very minimal, and designed to automatically adjust for mobile devices as well.
